SRM college of Pharmacy celebrates its silver jubilee
SRM College of Pharmacy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur established in the year 1992-2017, celebrated its 25th year Silver Jubilee celebration on 12.11.2018.
Dr. K.S.Lakshmi, Dean, SRM College of Pharmacy, welcomed the dignitaries on and off the dais. The milestones of the college since 1992 were presented to the gathering. Also a short film directed by the IV B. Pharm student of SRM College of Pharmacy on the World Pharmacist day theme 2018 “Pharmacist – Your Medicine Experts” was played to the gathering and it was highly appreciated by the guests. In this occasion, Honourable Founder Chancellor Dr.T.R. Paarivendhar welcomed and felicitated the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. In his Presidential address he recollected the memories regarding the development and growth of SRM College of Pharmacy. He also appreciated and felt as the prestigious moment for the NIRF ranking secured by SRM College of Pharmacy.
The Chief Guest Dr.S.Manivannan, Deputy Drugs Controller (India) addressed the gathering regarding the latest developments happening in the pharmaceutical field highlighting the percentage of drugs exported and manufactured for API and generic molecules in India. He also shared the importance of various investments and growth in the pharmaceutical sector.
Thiru.S.V.Veerramani, Founder and Chairman, Fourrts (India) Laboratories addressed the students and faculties regarding the importance of drugs manufacture in India and its usage among world population. He also addressed that every third drug consumed globally by the patients is manufactured from India. Also he recollected the memories of successful Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) which was conducted in the year 2012 jointly organized by SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Dr. Sandeep Sancheti , Vice Chancellor , SRMIST appreciated the work carried out by the faculty members of SRM College of Pharmacy. He also expressed his happiness for celebrating 25th year Silver Jubilee and also he praised the efforts provided by the faculty during the NAAC Inspection.
Prof. N. Sethuraman, Registrar, SRMIST movitated the students and staff members to carry their doctoral research to the next level such as patent and commercialization.
Dr. A. Sundaram , Dean, Medical, SRMIST shared his experience regarding clinical oriented service rendered by the Clinical Pharmacist in the hospital and to the public, he also praised the number of research publications made by the faculty of SRM College of Pharmacy.
Dr. K. Girish, Deputy Dean, Medical, SRMIST addressed regarding the importance of patient medication counseling carried out by the Pharmacists and also he highlighted the importance of Community Pharmacy Practice in India. He also praised the presentation given by SRM College of Pharmacy during mock visit for NAAC inspection in 2018.
In this memorable event Honorable Founder chancellor released the Souvenir and the first copy was received by chief guest and Guest of honor. The students who secured 1st Rank in B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Pharm.D were awarded with memento and certificate. All the teaching and non teaching staff were given a memento as a token of appreciation on account of Silver Jubilee Celebration. Alumini members globally settled gave their wishes and feed back about SRM College of Pharmacy through video conferencing.
Dr.V.Chitra, Vice Principal, SRM College of Pharmacy concluded the event by thanking each and everyone who contributed for this Silver Jubilee celebration with her vote of thanks.
