SBI Group flags off its 2nd edition SBI Green Marathon to promote sustainability

Countrys largest bank State Bank of India today launched its second edition of annual flagship programme SBI Green Marathon to promote sustainability. Anshula Kant, MD, (Stressed Assets, Risk & Compliance), SBI and Vinay M Tonse, CGM, Chennai Circle, SBI, flagged off the event that witnessed nearly 4000 enthusiastic runners in Chennai. Valdivel Jayalakshmi, Indian sprinter, Niranjana Nagarajan, Indian woman cricketer and Suresh Sathya, former Indian athlete also graced the event. The Sunday morning in the Olcott Memorial High School observed participants from across the city running 5 Kms, 10 Kms, 21 Kms marathon, pledging for a greener future.
Senior officials of the bank also contributed to the Run for Green theme and ran the marathon along with other participants. All the runners were given organic t-shirts to promote clean and green city and their bibs consisted of seeds for tree plantation post Marathon. SBI in the next 1 month is also rolling out its green marathon in Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Patna, Kolkata and Jaipur with eight marathon events got concluded in New Delhi Lucknow, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Guwahati and Bhopal in the last 4 months.
