The InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram kicked off its Christmas celebrations with its Christmas tree lighting ceremony, themed ‘Coastal Christmas tree’. In the luxury hotel’s endeavour to blend the spirit of Christmas with their mission of ecological sustainability, their engineering team created this marvel, made with 700 coconuts and standing 15 feet tall! in the middle of their artfully decorated lobby, stands a perfect tribute to the Kalpavriksha, where every part of the coconut tree is used.
The beach side resort’s belief in sustainability is based on a long-term perspective to conserve the productivity of nature and reduce our impact on the environment. Their sustainable and eco-friendly efforts through the year culminated in this exquisite ‘green’ Christmas tree.
