Medical team arrives to conduct free medical camps in state
A 54-member medical team led by Dr.Palep landed in Dimapur on November 25.
According to DIPR report, the team comprising of 36 doctors from various departments and other paramedical technicians drawn from various parts of the country would be conducting free medical camps in seven districts of Nagaland–Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, Peren , Mon, Mokokchung and Phek.
Chief medical officer Dimapur Dr.Vikato along with local doctors, nodal officers, representatives from district administration and DPRO and team welcomed the visiting doctors on arrival at Dimapur airport.
The team halted at Police guest house Chumukedima and after short briefing by the CMO Dimapur the team, divided into sub teams, left for their designated districts accompanied by the nodal officers.
It may be noted that the free medical camp was initiated by the Governor of Nagaland P.B. Acharya. The general public has been advised to avail advantage of the camps. Free medicines will also be distributed to the needy patients. Patients can register themselves at their respective district hospitals.
Meanwhile, a 15-member medical team will be conducting 3- day free medical camp at Dimapur district Hospital on November 26, 28, and 29 starting 9:30 a.m. DIPR report informed that cancer detection and cardiac screening will also be done with 2D echos (sonography of heart) during the camp.
Medical superintendent Dimapur Civil Hospital also informed that specialists in medicine, Gynae; ENT will also be available. The public have been informed to register at the OPD to avail the free medical services. Free medicines will also be distributed, it added.
Peren: In Peren, the medical team will be conducting free medical camp at District hospital for five days starting November 26.
Patients will be given free consultation and free medicines. The team includes Dr. Rajan Powle, Surgeon, Dr. Bharat Chetan Desai, GP, Physician Ashok B. Mishra, Gynaecologist, Dilip Soundale and Dental Surgeons Chetan Desai and Dr. Hailumbe Ipuing.
