Filmfare announces the 64 th edition of JIO Filmfare Awards South 2017
Filmfare is back, with the
64th edition of Jio Filmfare Awards South 2017, to recognize the best of films in South
that hit the silver screen last year. Renowned actor, Dhanush along with Filmfare Editor,
Mr. Jitesh Pillai, marked Filmfare’s 64th year of commemorating and acknowledging the
South film fraternity by lighting the ceremonial lamp at Reliance Digital store at Kilpauk
Chennai.
The main ceremony of the 64 th edition of Jio Filmfare Awards South 2017 is slated to
take place on June 17th at HICC Novotel in Hyderabad and promises to be a grand
affair.
The film fraternity in the South has entertained the audiences for more than a decade,
and has marked their presence in the hearts of the audience from across the globe. The
spell-binding music, striking visuals and exceptional treasure of hidden talents, are some
of the defining features that the South film industry boasts of. Legendary artist like
Rajnikanth the biggest asset to the film fraternity as well as actors such as Kamal
Hassan , Dhanush, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Rana Daggubati and many others, have time
and again featured in Hindi films as well. Filmfare has provided these ace actors a
platform to reach out to a greater set of audiences, thereby helping them to further
showcase their exceptional skill set.
