Chennai : Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College For Women Celebrated Samathuva Pongal / Thamizhar Thirunaal on 09/01/2010 ( Friday ) at 9.30 am in the college premises.
Children from Bala Vihar School for Mentally Retarded Kilpauk, Chennai wil be the special guest. Actress Gayathri Raghuram and Actor Ajay Rathnam were Chief Guest’s for the event.
To inculcate the traditional value, Pongal Celebration will be taking place in village ghetto, which will depICT the 4 days of the festival.
To me the moment a real one, Traditional games, Traditional Food Stalls, Folk Dance ( Gummiattam, Karagattam, Mayilattam, Kollattam, Poikkal Gudhirai, Thappattam, Kavadiattam, Sillambattam, Tamil Dance, Telugu Dance and Hindi Dance ) Pot Painting, Pongal Making and Rangoli Competition will take place.
And also intend to honour the Farmers for their immense invaluable contribution in the field of agriculture in particular and for making our country proud.
